Elena joins the team

Since the 1st of October, Elena Mauricio Sánchez has joined the team after being awarded a 7-months JAE intro scholarship from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the biggest research institution from Spain.

Elena is studying a master degree in Biodiversity and Conservation at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in collaboration with CSIC. She is especially thriller by plants, although during her JAE scholarship at MNCN she will research genomes from Poseidonales archaea using metagenomics and metatranscriptomics. 

Besides, she is conducting her master thesis on different aspects of lycophyte spores at the Universidad Complutense.
